Horrid

Hor″rid (?), a. [L. horridus. See Horror, and cf. Ordure.] 1. Rough; rugged; bristling.

Horrid with fern, and intricate with thorn. Dryden.

2. Fitted to excite horror; dreadful; hideous; shocking; hence, very offensive.
