Hy‐per″tro‐phy (?), n. [Gr. υπἕρ over, beyond + � nourishment, fr. � to nourish: cf. F. hypertrophie.] (Med. & Biol.) A condition of overgrowth or excessive development of an organ or part; — the opposite of atrophy.
