In‐cense″ (?), v. t. [imp. & p. p.Incensed (?); p. pr. & vb. n.Incensing.] [L. incensus, p. p. of incendere; pref. in- in + root of candere to glow. See Candle.]

1. To set on fire; to inflame; to kindle; to burn.
