{ Lan″ce‐o‐late (?), Lan″ce‐o‐la′ted (?) } a. [L. lanceolatus: cf. F. lancéolé. See Lanceolar.] (Bot. & Zoöl.) Rather narrow, tapering to a point at the apex, and sometimes at the base also; as, a lanceolate leaf.
