Legitimacy

Le‐git″i‐ma‐cy (–ĭ‐mȧ‐sy̆), n. [See Legitimate, a.] The state, or quality, of being legitimate, or in conformity with law; hence, the condition of having been lawfully begotten, or born in wedlock.
