Lep′i‐do‐ga″noid (lĕp′ĭ‐dō̍‐gā″noid or –găn″oid), n. [Gr. λεπίσ-ίδοσ, a scale + E. ganoid.] (Zoöl.) Any one of a division (Lepidoganoidei) of ganoid fishes, including those that have scales forming a coat of mail. Also used adjectively.
