Lex′i‐phan″ic (lĕks′ĭ‐făn″ĭk), a. [Gr. λεξιφάνισ a phrase monger; λέξισ speech + φαίνειν to show.] Using, or interlarded with, pretentious words; bombastic; as, a lexiphanic writer or speaker; lexiphanic writing.
