‖Li‐mic″o‐læ (lī̍‐mĭk″ō̍‐lē), n. pl. [L. limicola a dweller in the mud; limus mud + colere to dwell.] (Zoöl.) A group of shore birds, embracing the plovers, sandpipers, snipe, curlew, etc.; the Grallæ.
