Megalosaur

{ Meg″a‐lo‐saur′ (?), ‖Meg′a‐lo‐sau″rus (?), } n. [NL. megalosaurus, fr. Gr. μέγασ, μεγάλη, great + σαυ̑ροσ lizard: cf. F. mégalosaure.] (Paleon.) A gigantic carnivorous dinosaur, whose fossil remains have been found in England and elsewhere.
