‖Mel′a‐nor‐rhœ″a (?), n. [NL., fr. Gr. μέλασ, -ανοσ, black + � to flow.] (Bot.) An East Indian genus of large trees. Melanorrhœa usitatissima is the lignum-vitæ of Pegu, and yields a valuable black varnish.
