Mish″na (?), n. [NHeb. mishnāh, i.e., repetition, doubling, explanation (of the divine law), fr. Heb. shānāh to change, to repeat.] A collection or digest of Jewish traditions and explanations of Scripture, forming the text of the Talmud. [Written also Mischna.]
