Nemathecium

‖Nem′a‐the″ci‐um (? or �), n.; pl.Nemathecia (#). [NL., fr. Gr. νη̑μα a thread + � a box.] (Bot.) A peculiar kind of fructification on certain red algæ, consisting of an external mass of filaments at length separating into tetraspores.
