‖Nem′a‐toc″e‐ra (?), n. pl. [NL., fr. Gr. νη̑μα, νήματοσ, a thread + κέρασ horn.] (Zoöl.) A suborder of dipterous insects, having long antennæ, as the mosquito, gnat, and crane fly; — called also Nemocera.
