‖Or′o‐hip″pus (?), n. [NL., fr. Gr. ὄροσ, mountain (referring to the Rocky Mountain region) + ἵπποσ horse.] (Paleon.) A genus of American Eocene mammals allied to the horse, but having four toes in front and three behind.
