Or‐thog″na‐thous (?), a. [Ortho- + Gr. γνάθοσ the jaw.] (Anat.) Having the front of the head, or the skull, nearly perpendicular, not retreating backwards above the jaws; — opposed to prognathous. See Gnathic index, under Gnathic.
