‖Os′tra‐coi″de‐a (?), n. pl. [NL., fr. Gr. ὄστρακον shell of a testacean + -oid.] (Zoöl.) An order of Entomostraca possessing hard bivalve shells. They are of small size, and swim freely about. [Written also Ostracoda.]
