Overshadow

O′ver‐shad″ow (?), v. t. [imp. & p. p.Overshadowed(?); p. pr. & vb. n.Overshadowing.] [Cf. Overshade.] 1. To throw a shadow, or shade, over; to darken; to obscure.

There was a cloud that overshadowed them. Mark ix. 7.
