Ox″a‐lis (?), n. [L., a kind of sorrel, Gr. οξαλἴσ, fr. οξὔσ sharp, pungent, acid.] (Bot.) A genus of plants, mostly herbs, with acid-tasting trifoliolate or multifoliolate leaves; — called also wood sorrel.
