Pangolin

Pan″go‐lin (păṉ″gō̍‐lĭn), n. [Malay pangūlang.] (Zoöl.) Any one of several species of Manis, Pholidotus, and related genera, found in Africa and Asia. They are covered with imbricated scales, and feed upon ants. Called also scaly ant-eater.
