Paraglossa

‖Par′a‐glos″sa (–glŏs″sȧ), n.; pl.Paraglossæ (–sē). [NL., from Gr. παρά beside + γλω̑σσα tongue.] (Zoöl.) One of a pair of small appendages of the lingua or labium of certain insects. See Illust. under Hymenoptera.
