Pa′tri‐ot″ic (?), a. [Cf. F. patriotique, Gr. πατριωτικόσ belonging to a fellow-countryman.] Inspired by patriotism; actuated by love of one's country; zealously and unselfishly devoted to the service of one's country; as, a patriotic statesman, vigilance.
