‖Pe‐cop″te‐ris (pē̍‐kŏp″tē̍‐rĭs), n. [NL., fr. Gr. πέκειν to comb + πετρίσ a kind of fern.] (Paleon.) An extensive genus of fossil ferns; — so named from the regular comblike arrangement of the leaflets.
