Peepul tree

Pee″pul tree′ (pē″pŭl trē′). [Hind. pīpal, Skr. pippala.] (Bot.) A sacred tree (Ficus religiosa) of the Buddhists, a kind of fig tree which attains great size and venerable age. See Bo tree. [Written also pippul tree, and pipal tree.]
