Per″i‐apt (–ăpt), n. [Gr. περίαπτον, fr. περίαπτοσ hung about, περιάπτειν to hang about; περί about + ἄπτειν to tie: cf. F. périapte.] A charm worn as a protection against disease or mischief; an amulet. Coleridge.
