Phil′a‐del″phi‐an (?), a. [Gr. φιλαδελφια brotherly love, from φιλάδελφοσ brotherly; φίλοσ loved, loving, friendly + αδελφὄσ brother.] Of or pertaining to Ptolemy Philadelphus, or to one of the cities named Philadelphia, esp. the modern city in Pennsylvania.
