Pho‐cen″ic (fō̍‐sĕn″ĭk), a. [Gr. φώκαινα a porpoise.] (Chem.) Of or pertaining to dolphin oil or porpoise oil; — said of an acid (called also delphinic acid) subsequently found to be identical with valeric acid. Watts.
