Prate (?), v. i. [imp. & p. p.Prated; p. pr. & vb. n.Prating.] [Akin to LG. & D. praten, Dan. prate, Sw. & Icel. prata.] To talk much and to little purpose; to be loquacious; to speak foolishly; to babble.
