Pres′si‐ros″ter (?), n. [L. presssus pressed (p. p. of premere) + rostrum beak: cf. F. pressirostre. See 4th Press.] (Zoöl.) One of a tribe of wading birds (Pressirostres) including those which have a compressed beak, as the plovers.
