Rat‐toon″, v. i. [imp. & p. p.Rattooned (–to͞ond″); p. pr. & vb. n.Rattooning.] [Cf. Sp. retoñar.] To sprout or spring up from the root, as sugar cane from the root of the previous year's planting.
