Red″u‐vid (rĕd″ū̍‐vĭd), n. [L. reduvia a hangnail.] (Zoöl.) Any hemipterous insect of the genus Reduvius, or family Reduviidæ. They live by sucking the blood of other insects, and some species also attack man.
