Sil″i‐ca (?), n. [NL., from L. silex, silics, a flint.] (Chem.) Silicon dioxide, SiO�. It constitutes ordinary quartz (also opal and tridymite), and is artifically prepared as a very fine, white, tasteless, inodorous powder.
