Spur″ling–line′ (–līn′), n. [Cf. Prov. E. spurling the rut of a wheel, a cart rut, AS. spor a track, trace, E. spoor, Scot. spurl to sprawl.] (Naut.) The line which forms the communication between the steering wheel and the telltale.
