‖Syn‐o″vi‐a (?), n. [NL., perhaps fr. Gr. σύν with + L. ovum egg: cf. F. synovie.] (Anat.) A transparent, viscid, lubricating fluid which contains mucin and secreted by synovial membranes; synovial fluid.
