‖Tach′y‐glos″sa (?), n. pl. [NL., fr. Gr. ταχύσ quick + γλω̑σσα tongue.] (Zoöl.) A division of monotremes which comprises the spiny ant-eaters of Australia and New Guinea. See Illust. under Echidna.
