Um′bel‐lif″er‐ous (?), a. [Umbel + -ferous: cf. F. ombellifère.] (Bot.) (a) Producing umbels. (b) Of or pertaining to a natural order (Umbelliferæ) of plants, of which the parsley, carrot, parsnip, and fennel are well-known examples.
