Un″der‐croft (?), n. [Under + Prov. E. croft a vault; cf. OD. krochte crypt, and E. crypt.] (Arch.) A subterranean room of any kind; esp., one under a church (see Crypt), or one used as a chapel or for any sacred purpose.
