Vives (?), n. [OF. vives, F. avives (cf. Sp. abivas, adiva) fr. Ar. ad-dhība. Cf. Fives vives.] (Far.) A disease of brute animals, especially of horses, seated in the glands under the ear, where a tumor is formed which sometimes ends in suppuration.
