Wear″ish (?), a. [Etymol. uncertain, but perhaps akin to weary.]

1. Weak; withered; shrunk. “A wearish hand.” Ford.

A little, wearish old man, very melancholy by nature. Burton.

2. Insipid; tasteless; unsavory.

Wearish as meat is that is not well tasted. Palsgrave.
