The national god of the Moabites, and of the Ammonites, worshipped also under Solomon at Jerusalem, Nu 21:29; Jud 11:24; 1Ki 11:7; 2Ki 23:13; Jer 48:7. Some erroneously identify Chemosh with Ammon.
