ἀπολαμβάνω

I. "to take or receive from" another, παρά τινος Thuc.:— "to receive what is one's due", μισθόν Hdt., Xen.; ἀπ. ὅρκους "to accept" oaths tendered, Dem.

2. c. gen. "to take of, take part of" a thing, Thuc.

3. "to hear or learn", Lat. accipio, Plat.
