I. "to grow old, become old", and in aor. and perf. "to be so", Hom., etc.; κηρύσσων γήρασκε "grew old" in his office of herald, Il.; of things, χρόνος γηράσκων Aesch.; c. acc. cogn., βίον γηράναι Soph.

II. Causal in aor1 ἐγήρα_σα, "to bring to old age", Aesch., Anth.
