I. "to convict, confute, refute", Soph., Ar., etc.

2. c. dupl. acc. pers. et rei, "to convict one of" a thing, Plat.: Pass. "to be so convicted of", Dem.

3. with predicate added in part. "to convict" one "of" being.., Plat.:—Pass., κἀξελέγχεται κάκιστος ὤν Eur.

II. "to search out, put to the proof", Aesch.: —Pass., ἦσαν ἐξεληλεγμένοι all had "had their sentiments well ascertained", Dem.; ἐξηλέγχθη ἐς τὸ ἀληθές "was fully proved" to be true, Thuc.
