I. "a breastplate, cuirass, corslet", Lat. lorica, Il.:— the breast and back pieces which composed it were called γύαλα, which were fastened by clasps (ὀχεῖς) on both sides.

III. "the breastwork" of a wall, "the outer wall", Hdt.
