1. interrog. adj. corresponding to the relat. ὅσος and demonstr. τόσος, Lat. quantus? of what quantity? opp. to πηλίκος (which refers to "bulk)", often with τις added:

1. of Number, "how many?" Hdt., attic: with sg. Nouns, "how great? how much?" π. τι πλῆθος; Aesch.

2. of Distance, "how far?" Xen.

3. of Time, "how long?" Soph., etc.
