CRYOLITE

CRYOLITE, noun [Gr., cold, and stone, ice-stone.] A fluate of soda and alumin, found in Greenland, of a pale grayish white, snow white, or yellowish brown. It occurs in masses of a foliated structure. It has a glistening, vitreous luster.
