SINOPER

SIN'OPER, SIN'OPLE, noun [Latin sinopis.] Red ferruginous quartz, of a blood or brownish red color, sometimes with a tinge or yellow. It occurs in small but very perfect crystals, and in masses that resemble some varieties of jasper.
