‖A‐no″mi‐a (�), n. [NL., fr. Gr. � irregular; ἀ priv. + νομοσ̓ law.] (Zoöl.) A genus of bivalve shells, allied to the oyster, so called from their unequal valves, of which the lower is perforated for attachment.
