Ar′chæ‐o‐lith″ic (–ō̍‐lĭth″ĭk), a. [Gr. αρχαἰ̑οσ ancient + λιθικόσ pertaining to a stone.] (Archæol.) Of or pertaining to the earliest Stone age; — applied to a prehistoric period preceding the Paleolithic age.
