Cry′o‐hy″drate (kr?′?–h?″dr?t), n. [Gr. κρύοσ cold + E. hydrate.] (Chem.) A substance, as salt, ammonium chloride, etc., which crystallizes with water of crystallization only at low temperatures, or below the freezing point of water. F. Guthrie.
