Diph′y‐cer″cal (?), a. [Gr. διφυήσ double (δι- = δίσ- twice + φύειν to produce) + κέρκοσ tail.] (Anat.) Having the tail fin divided into two equal parts by the notochord, or end of the vertebral column; protocercal. See Protocercal.
